Concentration in Financial Planning
The concentration in financial planning is designed to prepare students for careers in financial planning, retirement planning and wealth management. The concentration develops decision-making skills by first providing a foundation of knowledge in investments, insurance planning, retirement planning, employee benefits, tax planning, estate planning, behavioral finance, ethics, government oversight, and market regulations. Students learn critical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication skills in a financial planning capstone course. The program is designed for graduates to meet the educational requirements of the Certified Financial Planning Board.
