This course presents a series of real-life case histories to be examined, and invites students to participate in the development of actual solutions. Topics include: preparing correct bids and bid protests; Subcontract scope & exclusions: shop drawing preparation, reviews and approval; material & product substitutions, accelerated schedule required by owner; deficiencies in the contract drawings; compensation for delays, full compensation for change orders and extra work requests; hidden conditions; major scope changes; Subcontractor/ General Contractor disputes; Settlement Agreements. Recommended Prerequisites: EXTX 200-207. If a student chooses to enroll in this course without having completed the other Construction Management coursework, the student should be aware that this course will require the student to have a working knowledge/understanding of the fundamental concepts in blueprint reading, estimating/bidding, project planning/administration/scheduling.

This course takes place via Zoom on Mondays for 8 weeks, starting on 6/2 and ending on 7/21. A Zoom link will be sent to registered students via email prior to the first class meeting. Course materials will be available to students on Canvas. This course is open to students who have completed EXTX 200-207.
