This is an overview course for the construction contracting professional. Students will learn the basic business practices typically encountered and utilized in running a construction company. Subject matter will cover licensing requirements in California, elementary accounting procedures, bonding and insurance practices, safety issues and requirements, choice of business entity, developing business credit lines, financial statement presentations, introduction to job costing and basic payroll practice for both private and public works.

This is an online synchronous class with required Zoom class meetings taking place from 2/4 to 3/26. The class meets on Wednesdays from 2/4 to 3/11 and then on Thursdays from 3/20 to 3/26. All Zoom class meetings take place from 6:30-9:20 pm. The Zoom information and course materials will be available in the CSUEB Canvas course management system within 3 days of the start date of the course.
