This course focuses on the key elements in planning and facilitating effective meetings. Types of meetings, roles, and meeting processes will be covered; meeting problems will be identified; and solutions to problems will be discussed. Students will learn how to identify key problem areas of dysfunctional meetings; develop solutions to problems through the definition and use of key meeting roles; understand the role and functions of an effective meeting leader including behaviors, attitudes, and tools used. They also will have the opportunity to practice meeting techniques and skills, and engage in reflection and feedback processes to enhance retention and self-discovery. Approved for six HRCI recertification hours.

This course will take place fully online, asynchronous (no scheduled meeting time). The students may move through the course materials via Canvas at their own pace. There are 6 hours of coursework videos, etc. to complete during the scheduled dates, Aug. 26, 2024 - Sep. 1, 2024 (starting Monday and ending on Sunday at 11:59pm).
