This course provides an orientation to Human Resources (HR) for novices and professionals alike. Starting with a review of key HR job functions, the course introduces students to differences between HR generalist and specialist jobs, as well as the skills and competencies needed by today's HR managers. Students also will discover how HR professionals act as strategic business partners in modern organizations, and what issues and challenges face today's HR managers. Approved for six HRCI recertification hours.

This course will take place fully online, asynchronous (no scheduled meeting time). The students may move through the course materials via Canvas at their own pace. There are 6 hours of coursework videos, etc. to complete during the scheduled dates, Jan. 20 - Jan. 26. (starting Monday and ending on Sunday at 11:59pm).
