Creating a Culture of Change: Fostering DEI in the workplace

  • Class Number: 3373
  • Units: 1.2
  • Fee: $315.00

When diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are isolated initiatives, organizations will engage in workshops and training that produce a short-term experience then back to business as usual. How can DEI be used as a catalyst for organizational change? What is needed to ensure a shift in mind-set that leads to programmatic and policy change? How can leadership support a work environment that moves beyond task forces to organization climate and culture change? This class will assist students in developing a framework for planning and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion practices that promote and produce sustaining culture change in the organization infrastructure. We will explore DEI frameworks, assessments, and scorecards currently being used in the workplace. Students will interrogate their organizations culture with respect to DEI and develop a tool kit that can be used to promote change.
