While working toward equitable program outcomes, more and more nonprofits are adopting a stance of ¿nothing about us without us.¿ What does it mean to follow this principle by making community input a key component of program planning and implementation? In this course, students will: Learn the foundational steps in planning, implementing, and evaluating community engagement processes to better incorporate community priorities into programs; Discuss principles for ethical and equitable public participation; Receive key tools to help them navigate the engagement process ¿ both in community and within their organizations; and Be introduced to a variety of techniques used for engagement through real-life case studies. This course is designed for any professional interested in better understanding and communicating with the community they serve, and is designed for those who center equity in their work.

This class is offered in the online synchronous format with 2 live required Zoom class meetings taking place on 10/13 and 10/27 from 6-9 pm. This Zoom information will be posted to Canvas within 3 days of the scheduled start date of the class.
