Early Childhood: Family-Centered Services

Discuss applications of diverse systems of care, gain an understanding of family diversity, and explore the major stress factors facing families today.  Discuss the theoretical basis for family-centered services, as well as reflects on current research and best practice. The course also examines the role of early childhood educators, and explores ways to build partnerships with parents and create communities of care - for the benefit of our children, and ultimately society as a whole. Credit Restrictions: Students must consult with the school district and/or state licensing agency to verify if these course offerings will meet his/her district and/or state requirements for salary advancement and/or state certificate re-licensure. Repeatability: May be repeated for a maximum of 4 semester units. Grading: A-F grading only. Equivalent Quarter Course: EPSY 7022.
