In this course, you will learn the principles of evidence, including the rules and standards that influence the admissibility and content of evidence. Paralegals may be asked to conduct interviews, do investigative work, locate and prepare witnesses, collect and assess documentary evidence, prepare pleadings and declarations, and perform numerous evidentiary functions. This course prepares you to assist in properly collecting, preserving, presenting and coordinating evidence at the pretrial and trial levels. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Grading: A-F grading only. Equivalent Quarter Course: POSC 7037.

ELECTIVE COURSE. This is an online synchronous course with required Zoom class meetings that take place on Thursdays, starting 8/22 and ending on 10/10. The class meetings are from 6-9:45 pm. The Zoom link will be posted to the course portal in Canvas and also emailed to students within 2 days of first class meeting. Students should have completed Legal Research and Writing I, Litigation I, and Litigation II to be eligible to enroll in this course.
