During the first half of this two-semester, continuing course, you will learn the overall structure of a civil law suit, including pre- and post-litigation considerations. You will prepare pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents, and become familiar with discovery method and trial preparation. Through in-class demonstration and hands-on experience, you will be instructed on the use of the legal software, Legal Solutions. These courses stress the real-world work done by paralegals to assist attorneys in processing civil cases to their completion. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. This is an online synchronous course with required Zoom class meetings that take place on Thursday evenings, starting 3/20 and ending on 5/15 (no class on 4/3). The online class meetings are from 6-9:30 pm. The Zoom link will be posted to the course portal in Canvas and also emailed to students within 2 days of first class meeting.
