This course provides an introduction to the location and use of legal research tools, and the analysis of written expression of current law as applied to given factual situations. Students will write case briefs, memoranda of law, and points and authorities. Through law library assignments, students will become familiar with, and be able to use: state and national reports, statutes, Shepard's Citations, legal digests, encyclopedias, treatises, and form books. Tuition includes Westlaw access. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Grading: A-F grading only. Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 7017.
