This course introduces general principles of copyright and trademark law, the rights and limitations of copyright, the nature of authorship, and copyright formalities. Students will learn state and federal rights in the area of trademark, and the rights of publicity. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Grading: A-F grading only. Equivalent Quarter Course: POSC 7031.

This is an elective course in the CSUEB Paralegal Studies program. Students seeking the Certificate of Complete must complete 1 elective course during their time in the CSUEB Paralegal Studies program. This is an online synchronous course with Wednesday evening Zoom class meetings starting on 7/3 and ending on 7/29 (no class meeting on 7/1). Students holding a BA/BS from CSUEB should enroll in this course using the Forever Pioneer Registration Form to receive a discount on the course fee.
