Principles of Trauma for Educators

This course involves the study of the field of Trauma using the leading research to understand brain functioning, the types of trauma, symptoms and strategies for supporting children with trauma in the classroom including mindfulness practice with the Mindful Life program. Grading: A-F grading only.

Notes:

This class meets in the online synchronous format with 5 required Zoom class meetings. The Zoom class meetings meet from 9-11 am on the following Saturdays: 8/16, 9/20, 10/18, 11/15, 12/20. The Zoom link for group meetings will be emailed to enrolled students within 3 days of the first scheduled group meeting. Students who are enrolling in this course must also enroll in EPSY 856 as these two courses are intended to be taken concurrently in the same semester. Course materials will be available in Canvas. No late enrollments will be processed.
