Principles of Trauma for Educators

This course involves the study of the field of Trauma using the leading research to understand brain functioning, the types of trauma, symptoms and strategies for supporting children with trauma in the classroom including mindfulness practice with the Mindful Life program. Grading: A-F grading only.

Notes:

New students in the Trauma Informed Specialist program will enroll in EPSY 855 and 856 during the Spring 2026 semester (February-June). Students will then complete the program in the Fall 2026 semester (August - December) by enrolling in EPSY 857 and 858. EPSY 855 will meet one Saturday per month for 5 months from 9-Noon (the specific Saturdays will be announced during the first class meeting).
