This course will examine the content and organization of drawings and specifications to expedite coordinated information retrieval as you manage or build a project. Coursework focuses on the interrelationships between drawing views, details and specifications; and between architectural and engineering disciplines (structural/mechanical/plumbing/electrical). Students will work ¿hands on¿ with drawings and specifications used to build a small commercial project. We will survey General and Special Conditions; and common contract documents utilized during the bid and construction observation phases of a project. Students will be introduced to the role of the Architect/Engineer as an integral member of the project delivery team.
This is one of the first two courses in the required course sequence for the Construction Management certificate program. This course will take place online and have synchronous Zoom class meeting on Thursdays (6:30 - 9:20 pm) starting on 8/20 and ending on 10/8. Enrolled students can access the course materials on CSUEB's BlackBoard system at bb.csueastbay.edu with the Net ID and password.
