This course presents a series of real-life case histories to be examined, and invites students to participate in the development of actual solutions. Topics include: preparing correct bids and bid protests; Subcontract scope & exclusions: shop drawing preparation, reviews and approval; material & product substitutions, accelerated schedule required by owner; deficiencies in the contract drawings; compensation for delays, full compensation for change orders and extra work requests; hidden conditions; major scope changes; Subcontractor/ General Contractor disputes; Settlement Agreements. Prerequisites: All other Construction Management courses should be taken first with this one being last in the program
This is a required course for the Construction Management certificate program and it is the final course in the course sequence (students beginning the program should not enroll in this class). This course will be offered again in the summer session of 2021. The is an ONLINE course which will have synchronous class meetings via Zoom on Tuesday evenings (6:30 - 9:20 pm) starting on 8/18 and ending on 10/6. Enrolled students will be able to access course material on CSUEB's BlackBoard system at bb.csueastbay.edu with their Net ID and password. Students who have received a BA or BS from CSUEB should enroll in this course using the 'Forever Pioneer Registration Form' which can be found on the 'Tuition & Fees' page of the CSUEB Continuing Education website.
