As a Cal State East Bay graduate, you’ll leave the program equipped with the tools necessary to create dynamic and effective teaching and training materials for a completely online environment, making you invaluable in any workplace.
If you are interested in continuing your education in the future, earning your eLearning Technology Certificate fulfills the initial three course requirements of Cal State East Bay’s MS in eLearning (MSeL), a program accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. You will only need to complete an additional seven courses to earn the master’s degree.
Cal State East Bay is committed to helping you find the perfect job to fit your personal and professional needs. That’s why this job board was created exclusively for current students and graduates of the eLearning Technology certificate program.
Each course in the eLearning Technology program is offered in eight-week sessions and conveniently offered online. Classes have a start and end date, and specific assignments with due dates in most weeks. Once you log in to Blackboard, you will find a syllabus and instructions on how to start working on the course.
All courses are asynchronous, which means you never need to log in at a particular time or on a particular day, though you will need to log in 3-4 times a week in order to complete your individual and group assignments and to participate in discussions.
With a completely online program, you can look forward to communicating with your instructors and advisors in a variety of ways: e-mail, telephone, chat room office hours, and videoconference. A high-speed Internet connection is strongly recommended.

If you hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and have earned at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) in all upper division/post baccalaureate coursework, you are welcome to enroll.
No application is needed to join the Certificate in eLearning Technology. However, you must confirm you have a bachelor's degree (from any major or discipline). Please email a copy of your unofficial transcript or diploma to: elearning@csueastbay.edu.
Please note, if you hold a baccalaureate degree from out of the country, you must have your transcripts evaluated by the International Admissions Office.
Once you complete the five required courses with an overall GPA of 3.0, you will be awarded a digital certificate that can be shared through networking sites like Linkedin.
